TMET

The TMET weather transmitter interfaces digitally with the Vaisala WXT536 weather sensor or or Vaisala WXT532 wind speed sensor. The Vaisala WXT536 weather sensor supplies the following parameters:

• Wind speed: 0-60m/s
• Wind direction: 0-360°
• Precipitation
• Barometric pressure: 600-1100 hPa
• Air temperature: -52°C to 60°C
• Relative Humidity: 0-100%RH

 

The transmitter also has inputs for a thermistor temperature sensor and a pyranometer input for the Kipp and Zonen CMP3 or Skye SKS1110. The pyranometer channel provides Global (Total) and Diffuse irradiance in W.m-2.

TMET cannot provide wind gust data or sunshine hours.

Powering the TMET

The TMET and the Vaisala weather sensors are both low power devices, allowing the system to be powered by any of the following: Solar power The built in rechargeable battery and solar regulator used together with a 9W solar panel provides up to 5 days of continuous operations in the absence of significant sunlight (based on a transmitter interval of 5 minutes). AC power supply Use with a Eltek power supply type MP12U (mains input voltage 100/250V ). The internal rechargeable batteries provide several days of power should the AC supply fail. External 12V battery e.g. Yuasa sealed acid battery (12AH). Provides up to 3 weeks operation. Note: the above power options are not suitable for use with the Vaisala weather sensor if the de-icing option is required.

The TMET powers the weather senors. The pyranometer is self-powered.

Accessories

WBT

The TMET is rated for indoor use only. If to be used outdoors, the TMET must be housed in a secondary enclosure. The outdoor unit type WBT is available for this purpose. The WBT is intended for mounting on a 25mm lightweight aluminium pole.

Supplied with key-lock door and galvanised clamp for use on the 25mm dia pole. (The pole is not supplied).

Dimensions: 200 x 300 x 132mm

SP-TMET2

10W solar panel supplied with 25mm dia pole mounting bracket and lead. Charge rate is 1A max.
The bracket fitted provides fixed inclination of 30 degrees and is optimised for latitude 52 degrees north. For extremes of latitude an alternative bracket may be required.

WBG Wall bracket docking kit

This kit enables fitment of the transmitter's built-in wall bracket to difficult or uneven surfaces. The kit provides additional docking security.
