Gryffin Pty. Ltd. was incorporated in 1986 and is owned and managed by Steve King and John Mythen. Steve and John have worked together in the security fencing field since 1971 and began manufacturing in 1985. In the 1970’s and early 80’s, Gryffin established a reputation as a specialist in fence erection, in technically difficult security and safety installations.

These installations called for elements of design and construction precision which were beyond the capability of most competitors. Eventually the partners interest in design led them to produce their first product Tigertape a stainless steel barbed tape which entered the marketplace in 1986.

Tigertape barbed tape was aimed firmly at the high security prison and correctional institution market and is now installed in 90% of the prisons in Australia.Since 1986 Gryffin have steadily added products to their range and now produce a full range of high security physical barriers for almost any application.

These include Palisade By Gryffin high security fencing, long and short barbed Tigertape.

Gryffin sees it’s mission as "to use Australian materials and design expertise to become the undisputed leader in the provision of high security barriers in Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Asia."

In brief, the Palisade By Gryffin product is a modular barrier where individual components are hot dip galvanised prior to leaving the factory. This means that site construction does not require any further cutting or welding.

The system also features contour following design in that ground contours up to 15° may be followed whilst maintaining a constant height between the bottom of the fence pale and the ground.
