Its alloy chassis features a small form factor, fully-sealed design with excellent dust-proofing, heat dissipation and anti-vibration performance.

The system is equipped with either of the latest Intel™ ATOM N450 or N470 low-power high-performance processors, up to 2GB DDR RAM and 250GB SATA HDD (Compact Flash optional). The MEC-4005 also boasts a wide array of I/O ports including 4x RS-232, 6 x USB and 2 x LAN. Additionally it also features 2 x Mini-PCIe expansion slots.

The MEC-4005 can be used in a wide range of embedded applications including remote control systems, energy saving systems and industrial or home automation and has an operating temperature range of -10°C to +55°C.
