Every single tank or drum containing dangerous fluids or chemicals must be kept off the ground on a bunded pallet. 

Why? Because bunded pallets have a secure, liquid-tight base, a form of containment tray. Any minor leaks or spills from drums or tanks enter the bunded pallet at the top and remain there until they can be safely emptied and cleaned using a spill kit, drastically reducing the chance of site contamination.

Bunded pallet sizes and designs vary depending on what and how much hazardous material they are storing. Most bunded pallets are made from polyethylene, steel bunded pallets are also available.
