Solar Power Australia is one of the largest suppliers and integrators of renewable energy products in the country. Our Australian owned and operated company, Solar Power Australia Pty Ltd, was formed in early 2000 under the original name of E-lec Engineering Pty Ltd, and in 2001 we developed Australia's first online solar store.

Our professional team includes Electrical Engineers, Electronics Technicians, Electricians and other skilled persons, all with a passion for solar and renewable energy solutions.

We have installed thousands of grid-connect, remote area and recreational power systems throughout Australia for a variety of domestic, commercial and industrial clients.

Some of our more iconic projects include:
• Byron Bay Solar Train - Designed, built and installed a custom Electric Drive System for a 70 tonne restored "Red Rattler" passenger train that would enable travel at 70km/h and accelerate from 0-40 in 30sec. This project was a world first and has won many awards.
• ELMOFO Electric Radical Race Car- Designed and built this Electric race car which won its class against it's petrol equivalents and was an Australian first. We also built a 100kW mobile DC Fast Charger to enable the vehicle to be recharged within 1-2hrs.
• Newcastle Airport - 99kW Solar was installed to help offset the Airports grid-power consumption.
• Solar Carports for Newcastle Council EV charging stations
• An 18.4kW grid-connect solar power system on Australia's first 6-Star Energy Rated building at Bond University in Robina QLD.
• An experimental battery-connected, grid-feed solar & wind hybrid system at the CSIRO Energy Centre in Newcastle NSW.
• The solar lighting system on the Stockton Breakwall which allows ships and tugboats to safely navigate their way into the Newcastle Harbour at night.
