Ecobar is a specially engineered extrusion coating designed to impart to special oxy-degradation properties   without impacting productivity or product integrity. Ecobar can deliver similar properties to conventional polyolefins but will oxy-biodegrade within a prescribed time period as soon as six months.

• Total degradation of polymer can be tailor made to a defined time line
• Mechanisms that trigger this process are heat input, sunlight (UV light) and mechanical stress.
• After use, when the product is disposed of in landfills, compost sites, arable land, or inadvertently as litter, these products undergo oxidative degradation much more rapidly than ordinary products.
• Molecules in the presence of moisture, micro-organisms, oxygen and soil will ultimately biodegrade to such a fine level, they  can  be consumed  by micro-organisms (per ASTM D6954-04)
