Universal Robots offer three different Cobot models with load capabilities of 3, 5 and 10 kg. All of the Cobots are 6 axis with a reach of 500mm for the 3kg unit, and up to 1300mm for the 10kg unit. Their small size and ease of programming means they are easy to deploy and relocatable to work on different tasks. Cobots can be used to work alongside human operators without fencing provided a risk assessment deems that it is safe to do so. The tasks best suited to Cobots are those which are very repetitive and simple. i.e. extremely boring for human operators. Using Cobots to perform these tasks allows existing Operators to be utilised for more technical tasks where higher skill levels are necessary.
