Both plain and ladder tapes are reinforced with either stainless steel or Inconel wire. The stainless steel / Inconel insert gives the tape maximum tensile strength at elevated temperatures.

Ladder Tape has an open centre which allows flange bolts to be pushed through which eliminates pre punching of holes.
