3,414 workers have died while performing their work in this period.
26% of the workers who die worked in Transport, Postal or Warehousing roles
24% of the workers who die worked in Agriculture, Forestry or Fisheries
19% of the workers who die worked in Construction jobs
This accounts for 69% of all the fatalities.
But there is positive news. There are more workers in the workforce but the number of deaths at work is showing a slow decline over the years.
By employers and employees working together, these numbers can be reduced a lot more.
