Project Overview
Crystal Springs, located in the shadow of Mount Lofty pack springwater in two litre and 10 litre bag-in-box packs for sale by major supermarket chains as well as their own brand. The factory is large with forklifts constantly entering and exiting resulting in very cold conditions during winter.
With moisture everywhere in the atmosphere, cardboard can become damp causing packaging issues when feeding the boxing machines at the end of the filling line. Stuart Bailey, Managing Director of Springwater Beverages was looking for a factory heating solution which would deal with both staff comfort and the moisture reduction in order to improve productivity during winter.
Following demonstration and trial of aTitan short-wave infrared heater, Stuart was convinced that placing heaters above key points along his production line where staff spent extended periods working was the solution. He shared the following feedback:
The heaters have performed very well for our production staff who are standing under them at key points on the production line.
Warmth, Reduced Moisture and Less Packaging Waste
Titan heaters use short-wave infrared to provideradiant warmth directly to people and work areasbut also have shown to have additional advantages. Stuart was extremely happy to find that by placing heaters above the pre-use storage area, that his moisture issue was solved.
The heaters have reduced the moisture ingress into our cardboard boxes, resulting in less wastage. They have also reduced the moisture within the shed above and around key manufacturing machinery, which has resulted in the machines operating more efficiently.
Titan Infrared Heaters for Factories and Warehouses
Titan infrared heaters can be installed above production lines, workstations, packing areas and other occupied zones within factories and warehouses. Rather than heating the full air volume of a large building, short-wave infrared directs radiant warmth towards the areas below.
For businesses looking for an infrared heater for a factory, Titan heaters can be positioned above the areas where staff spend the most time. They can also be used as an infrared warehouse heater for picking, packing and workstation areas.
