Denyo is one of Japan's leading manufacturers of engine-driven generators, they specialise in the development of portable power sources for construction and maintenance applications. Established in 1948, Denyo now has a product range that includes engine-driven power generators, engine-driven welders and engine-driven air compressors and they sell in more than 100 countries worldwide.

Referencing Redstar equipment’s value model, Denyo generators are built for the following applications –
- Prime fixed: A prime fixed generator will be used as the sole source of power but will be fixed in one position or rarely moved over its life. More than 90% of the cost of running a diesel generator is fuel, so the key decision making criteria for fixed prime generator is fuel consumption. A machine with a lighter frame can however be used to save money as the machine will not be moved around.
- Prime mobile: As with prime fixed, a prime mobile generator will run in most cases 24/7. This means fuel consumption is the key decision making criteria, but a robust canopy must also be selected as the unit will be moved from site-to-site such as a construction or rental application.
So what’s the difference between the Series 2 sets and the Series 1 sets?
The Series 1 sets are imported direct from the Denyo factory to a standard worldwide Denyo specification. Once at Redstar’s specialist workshops they are re-wired to meet Australian standards and any additional fittings are added or built to meet specific customer specification. These include in house fabricated Bunded bases, protective frames, fire protection, outlets etc.
The Series 2 machines are custom built ex-factory to meet Australian standards and are pre-built to Redstar’s stringent specifications. They will also now boast a number of pre fitted outlets (depending on the size of the set) including 15amp, 32amp and 63amp outlets. Other features included as standard on the series 2 are Emergency Stop, 110% Bunded base, Rain gutters, three way fuel valves and all doors are now equipped with auto cut out.
The factory prebuilding of Series 2 machines to Redstar standards, will mean shorter lead times on all generator models between 13KVA and 150KVA, whist still maintaining the quality, fuel efficiency and reliability that Denyo Generators are known for, and that our clients are accustomed too.
Both series 1 and series 2, once they arrive at Redstar’s workshop will continue to be custom built or refitted with additional items to meet specific customer specification if required.
