The following are two examples of how two power supply systems, both by the NSW Regional Council and with a rail application.

NSW Regional Council

Four x 4.4kW sophisticated battery charging systems with hot swappable convection cooled rectifiers.

Each system utilises four Opus 24VDC 1.1kW swappable rectifiers, controlled by a VIDI controller which enables monitoring and control of the system via SNMP or Modbus. It also has low voltage disconnect, battery management, temperature compensation, input protection via 25A 3 phase MCB and surge protection devices, and DC distribution via 8 * 32A breakers. Each unit has N + 1 redundancy.

Load is up to 100A, and a 400AH 24VDC battery bank for each unit was supplied as part of the Turnkey Solution. All the council engineers had to do was wire them in. Each unit was fully tested as total system prior to despatch.

Rail Application

CAB345 provides uninterrupted backup power for critical 120VAC loads up to 600W from a 230VAC supply.

This unique UPS system is housed in a seismically rated 33U 19” cabinet with heavy duty battery shelves and comprehensive monitoring via relay alarms and digital meters.

A SR750D24FXL 750W 24VDC float charger supplies the load via a 600W IRM624-VLC inverter as well as charging the 260AH 24VDC battery bank.
