Link-Seal Mechanical Seals
Link-Seal® are supplied as a belt with a series of interconnecting rubber links & bolts that when tightened form a mechanical seal between the outside of the pipe & the substrate it passes through.
They are widely recognised in the industry as the most effective way to permanently seal this gap known as the annular space.
Whether your pipe or the substrate that it passes through is constructed from HDPE, plastic, concrete or one of our specially manufactured steel sleeves, then Link-Seal provides the ultimate no-leak solution for the sealing of the annular space.
Link-Seals have no down time on curing and unlike most grouts, foams, epoxy’s or cementitious products they do not shrink whilst curing & require no maintenance afterwards.
Link-Seals can also be used in combination with Century-Line Sleeves, Steel Sleeves, External Divided Sleeves, Pre-Cast/Formed concrete penetrations (Cell-Cast Interlocking Hole Forming Discs) and can be installed directly into a Cored Wall Opening.
For more than 15 years Projex Group have been supplying Link-Seals, Century-Line Sleeves, Cell-Cast Discs and other products into small & major infrastructure projects. These include Gas Plants, Oil Refineries, Hospitals, Water & Waste Treatment Plants where the sealing of these penetrations is extremely critical & of the highest importance.
The Link-Seal Models
The Model “O” is resistant to oils, fuel and many solvents (gasoline, motor oil, kerosene, methane, jet fuel, hydraulic fluid, water, etc.), but it is not U.V. resistant so should not be left exposed. The O-S316 model uses stainless steel hardware, which makes it suitable for highly corrosive environments.
The high temperature Link-Seal (Model-T) has a 2hrs fire rating according to Australian Standards 1530.4 and 4072.1 and can be used to provide a fire rating but also to provide a positive hydrostatic seal against water or gas at the same time.
If a fire rating is required when sealing against hydrocarbons please contact Projex Group for correct combinations and installation procedures.
The Low Durometer Model “L” is excellent for use with thin wall metal pipe, applications using plastic, ceramic or glass pipe – or applications where the cylindrical object is fragile and may not withstand the compressing forces generated by a standard Link-Seal® Mechanical Seal.
The Model “C” is suitable for use in water, direct ground burial and atmospheric conditions. It provides electrical isolation where cathodic protection is required. Because it uses stainless steel hardware it is excellent for applications such as chemical processing and waste-water treatment. EPDM rubber is resistant to most inorganic acids and alkalis and some organic chemicals (acetone, alcohol, ketones). It can be used in a cored or formed hole or in conjunction with Century-Line Sleeves, Cell-Cast Discs or WS Steel Sleeves.
Why is it that site engineers and maintenance contractors prefers to install the Link-Seals?
