Environmentally Friendly Packaging

All of the products listed are either bio-degradable, degradable, have been manufactured from at least partly recycled content - or manufactured to create the same product, just using less of it whilst maintaining strength reliability and integrity. Other products listed are either paper based or are packaging products that assist us to create our own recycled packaging.

Padded Mailer/Mail Bags

• Jiffy Rigi Mailer 75% recycled content - An extra rigid, kraft laminated fibreboard that has been made from up to 75% recycled paper. Its rigid construction means it resists bending and folding. They are are ideal for shipping books, photography and other low profile items that require rigid packaging
• Utility Mailers 50% recycled content - Another heavy duty mailer that features a double walled envelope to provide its strength and stiffness that resists tearing or punctures. It has been made from up to 50% recycled paper.
• Jiffy Padded Mailers internal padding is made from recycled paper fibre - Made from a brown kraft paper exterior with the padding content made of recycled paper fibre
• Jiffy Lite with bubble inner made from up to 15% recycled content - made from recycled white kraft paper exterior and partly recycled bubble padding interior. The combination providing stiffness and puncture resistance and a cushioning interior.
• Black or White Armour Padded Bags - bubble inner made from up to 15% recycled content - the new Armour range provide extra security and privacy from the 100% blockout provided by the black or the additional 20% provided by the white. Both feature a double inner lining and tamper evident seals.

Degradable and Bio-degradable Packaging

• Cellophane (Plastic) Bags - made from 90% biodegradable naturally occurring cellulose instead of the usual petroleum based plastics. Cello bags are one of the worlds oldest form of transparent packaging
• BioFill - Void  Fill Chips - made from 100% natural starch making it biodegradable. Biofill is commonly known as the foam chips used to cushion products within a box and fill any void inside. Not only is it manufactured from a renewable resource it is also compostable. Statis, odour and dust free.

Paper Packaging Products

• Brown Kraft Paper Bags made from 100% recycled kraft paper - A popular and attractive alternative to plastic bags. Featuring a side gusset for extra capacity our bags are made from 110gms-126gsm paper.
• White Newsprint packaging or wrapping paper made from up to 60% recycled paper fibre - similar to butchers paper its ideal for wrapping to protect items to prevent scratching or damage.
• Corrugated Cardboard Rolls - brown kraft paper with corrugated single face fluting which assists with additional padding for protection during storage and transport. Made of partly recycled content.
• Brown Kraft Paper rolls - also made from recycled content, brown kraft paper is another attractive and economical alternative used to wrap items to protect against scratching and damage. Being kraft paper it is a more stiff alternative to white newsprint.
• Cardboard Boxes - both reusable and recyclable - made from a regular slotted carton in a range of off the shelf sizes.
• Cardboard Mailing Tubes - both reusable and recyclable and made from 100% recycled cardboard. We have a range of off the shelf sizes.
• Angle Boards / Pallet Corners - reusable and recyclable - known as pallet corners as the thick moulded cardboard strip is used to cover the corners on pallet loads to provide protection, strength and stability.
• FasFil Paper Packaging Void Fill - There are a number of FasFil options from a simple dispenser box of fanfolded paper that can be used to fill the void in packages; swiveling workstations of void fill paper dispensers; through to more sophisticated high volume paper void filler and cushioning systems.

Packaging Tapes

• Kraft Paper Packaging Tape  - UBIS 4800 kraft paper packaging tape which is available in both standard hand rolls as well as machine rolls used with carton sealers. Not only is it recyclable, but it matches plastic packaging tapes in terms of tack.
• Monta Biopack 860 Compostable Packaging Tape - made from 90% renewable resources, its adhesive is made from natural rubber and meets Australian standards regarding it's compostability and biodegradability.
• Water Activated Gummed Paper Tape - This tape features a starch based adhesive, is made of paper and using any of a range of dispensers, when immersed in water the adhesive is activated. When it is applied to cardboard cartons the adhesive causes it to bond to the fibres of the carton, making it pilfer proof too.

Products that encompass REDUCE

These products may be made of plastic, but have been created in such a way so that the user requires less material for the same outcome. 

• Pre-stretched Pallet Wrap/Stretch Wrap - This pallet wrap has been pre-stretched at the manufacturing level. The end result has a couple of benefits - not only does this end up in less plastic wrap being required for the same outcome - which is a pallet load of goods being wrapped in pallet wrap which keeps the load together and secure (and protected from the elements) whilst in storage or during transport. Secondly, with hand pre-stretched pallet wrap, less physical effort is required by the handler to create a securely wrapped pallet.
• Ultra Thin Shrink Film - Shrink Film is used with either manual shrink wrapping applications or shrink wrapping machines - where goods are put between two layers of shrink film and with the use of applied heat - the film shrinks around the product resulting in a professional looking, clear plastic film skin. CT300 is an ultra thin shrink film that is not only a high performance film but provides the same clarity, shine and strength as thicker films.

Packaging the helps reduce food waste

This is a very current and topical issue where a third of all food produced on the planet never reaches the table. (See our Article "The Plastic Packaging Issue and Reducing Foods Waste"). A significant cause of food wastage is due to the inability to keep it lasting longer. Wehave some products and machines that assist with this issue.

• Vacuum Bags/ Vacuum Pouches - becoming more and more common in most supermarkets in order to keep meat and other perishable foods last longer. Vacuum packaging reduces the atmosphere inside  to enable the protection against bacteria and preserve the freshness of food.
• Stand up Pouches / Stand Up Bags / Doypack - Zip lock bags - another type of plastic packaging that is becoming more and more popular as not only do they clearly show the food inside but the secure welded seals, foil oxygen barriers and zip lock seals provide attractive packaging that keeps food for longer.
• Shrink Wrap Machines and Shrink Film - consider the shrink wrapped cucumber. Keeping the seal has meant the shelf life of cucumbers has increased by up to 70%.
