CIP - Cleaning-in-Place of Heat Exchangers ...
For the best results of the heat exchanger, it is important to keep the plates clean. Fouling reduces heat transfer and capacity of the heat exchanger. Consequently also the fluids in the heat exchanger may be affected unfavourably.
The CIP unit, together with our cleaning fluids, facilitates cleaning of the plates in an efficient and caring manner, without reassembling of the plate heat exchanger.
The CIP unit is therefore a good investment when reliability centered maintenance is applied to secure your production. The unit can be used for cleaning of anything from evaporators, steam-boilers, hot water circuits etc.
The CIP A and CIP B cleaning fluids are developed with high demands on environment awareness. Therefore, no special treatment or deposition of used fluids is required.
CIP = Cleaning-in-Place, which means cleaning of the exchanger, without reassembly. Please note that even if though CIP cleaning is performed frequently, it will not make periodic inspections unnecessary.
The CIP unit is delivered with hose connections to be mounted on the unit’s in- and outlet. The unit is delivered with two different host dimensions, DN 25 and DN 40.
The MIDI unit consists of a 100-litre container. It is equiped with a thermostat controlled, heater pump. When cleaning, a pump circulates the hot (about 65°C) cleaning fluid through the heat exchanger for 4-6 hours.
During this cleaning phase, the pH value must not exceed 2.5 (for CIP A), which is controlled with the pH Indicator.
If the plates are highly fouled, cleaning may benefit from a change of flow direction by switching the hose connection at the unit. After the cleaning phase, the cleaning fluid is emptied and rinsing water is supplied for circulation through the exchanger.
The cleaning is ready when the pH value of the rinsing water exceeds 5.0. This is controlled with the pH Indicator.
