Atlas Copco's new water-injected Screw Compressor from 15 to 30 kW caters to new oil-free applications.
Atlas Copco's Industrial Air Division launches the new AQ oil-free, water-injected screw compressor range, with an installed motor power from 15 to 30 kW and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technology. The new AQ 15-30 is exclusively available with VSD and the range will consist of 4 different models, including air- as well as water-cooled variants. The new, Class 0 certified oil-free compressor range offers substantial energy savings and high operational efficiency.
Oil-free air for sensitive applications
With the introduction of this range, Atlas Copco extends its AQ water-injected screw family. Atlas Copco's water-injected screw technology is now available from 15 to 55 kW. This new product range brings reliable, ISO 8573-1 Class 0 certified, oil-free air to the most sensitive applications below 30 kW , e.g. medical applications, pharmaceutics, electronics and >8bar pressure applications.
The AQ's water-injected screw technology is not only 100% oil-free, thanks to its integrated air treatment the AQ ensures optimum efficiency, reliability and air quality.
Variable speed drive technology for sustainable energy consumption
The introduction of Atlas Copco's exclusive VSD technology , matching the compressor output to the air demand, leads to energy savings of on average 35%. Running a VSD compressor means more compressed air for less power consumed and lower energy costs as the direct result.
Next to this high flow per energy consumed, the AQ 15-30 VSD offers noise levels as low as 67 dB(A). Therefore, the AQ is the perfect "WorkPlace Air System", that will effortlessly fit onto every work floor.
Efficiency is key
The AQ 15-30 VSD is not only energy-efficient, it also includes features that offer overall operating efficiency. The superior cooling capability of water ensures that the heat is removed efficiently at the source. The low temperature of the compressed air reduces the stress on components, providing long life. A highly efficient compression process is achieved thanks to high quality polymer ceramic rotors with optimum profiling.
As the element bearings are water-lubricated and slide on the water, their lifetime is extended and a smooth rotation of the element is safeguarded. With the Full Feature concept, you avoid pressure drops, the need for an external dryer, costly piping systems, multiple connections and air leaks.
The AQ also allows for easy maintenance thanks to its compact, ergonomic design. With the Elektronikon® controller and the advanced connectivity through AirConnect, the compressor's performance can be monitored everywhere, anytime.
With the new air-cooled and water-cooled AQ 15-30 VSD, Atlas Copco adds a highly reliable and energy-efficient, Class 0 certified, oil-free air compressor to its portfolio. The AQ 15-30 VSD is ideal for sensitive, oil-free applications that want to benefit from energy savings and high operational efficiency.
