Simple, it's more cost-effective, robust and has excellent heat welding properties. RBM uses a CAD cutting press to ensure quality assurance and the PVC doesn't fray at the edges as canvas can.

Plus, you can clean it with a damp cloth and it comes in way more colours than canvas. RBM primarily works with 680gsm PVC because it's heavy enough to withstand rough and tumble treatment but not too heavy that you can't lift it when it's full of tools.
