Sensor/Actuator Cabling | PLUSCON Field
In distributed connection methods, passive distributor systems connect the peripheral devices and the PLC controller. Phoenix Contact offers the most comprehensive range of sensor/actuator cabling on the market.
Passive M5, M8 and M12 cabling, complete with distributor boxes, cables and connectors for assembly, can normally be supplied from stock. To be able to react flexibly to your wishes, conductors and boxes can be variably manufactured with specific conductor lengths and types (e.g. other sheath color).

Sensor/Actuator cable
Phoenix Contact offers assembled sensor/actuator cables for mechanical and plant engineering in 3 to 17-position versions. For especially harsh requirements and increased EMC capability, all these cables are also available in a shielded version. The entire product range is naturally available with SPEEDCON fast locking. This allows assembly time to be reduced by up to 90%.
The M8 product range comprises 3 to 6-position cables in unshielded and shielded versions. This enables easy mounting even in confined spaces.

Sensor/Actuator Boxes
Cabling systems with IP65/67/69K protection allow sensors and actuators to be wired economically and efficiently in the field level. The sensor/actuator boxes from Phoenix Contact play a decisive role here. Instead of numerous individual conductors, a master cable is laid from the control unit to the sensor/actuator box, and the sensors and actuators are directly connected on site.
The master cable is designed as a hybrid cable and already contains the power supply and the control lines for the sensors or actuators. The distributors are available with 4, 6 or 8 slots. A maximum of 16 sensors or actuators can be connected to a double-occupied box.
Sensor/Actuator plugs
In mechanical engineering for small lots or special purposes, practical, economical and flexible solutions are needed for quick wiring. The user needs components that allow different conductors to be connected quickly and without error. This is achieved with M12/M8 round plug connectors as a straight and angled version.
For connection on the device side, M12/M8 flush-type sockets and plugs are available. All connectors for free assembly offer a consistently good signal transmission even under harsh environmental conditions.
Connection methods for wireable connectors
Sensor/actuator cabling for the food industry
Phoenix Contact also offers a universal range of sensor/actuator cabling for the food industry. Hygienic safety is indispensable in the food industry. High-quality high-grade steel is used to rule out all risks. Smooth surfaces do not offer a foothold and breeding ground to micro-organisms.
All metallic components are made from high-grade steel 1.4404 in order to fulfill these requirements. Plastics used are safe from the toxicological point of view. Plastics used (PVC cables and handle materials) are listed in Amer
