Peter Arney home, Salter Point, WA

The recent extension to the Peter Arney Home in Salter Point WA was designed to reflect the Amana Living philosophy of helping residents to live the second half of life regardless of their level of independence or mobility.

Arnana Living is the principal aged care agency of the Anglican Diocese of Perth.

When discussing the 'feel' of the new extension with interior designer Sandy Brennan, it was decided to create a contemporary boutique hotel feel that was both warm and welcoming and had a sense of luxury.

Colour and texture were important in establishing the desired feel. The warmth of the timber floor, walnut panelling and cabinet work combined perfectly with the metallic wallpapers and curtain sheers to provide a backdrop for the custom-made soft furnishings and original artworks.

Polyflor's Expona Superplank was chosen because it provided a safe and reliable surface with ease of maintenance, while exhibiting a realistic timber look.

The flooring has a natural-looking, calm texture, and the Whiteoak colour works beautifully with the American Walnut timbers and the warm greys and reds in the upholstery and drapery fabrics.

The result is an authentic home-like environment reflecting the dedication of Amana Living towards providing care for people with an emphasis on personal enrichment.
