Just completed, the three storey home is architecturally designed for a residential feel In the scale and design of fittings.
Innovative Care director, Sandi Croft, said staff and resident comfort and safety were of primary importance when the facility was designed, and these were reflected in the choice of fittings and flooring. Apart from carpet in the lounges and hallways, Innovative Care's architect specified Polyflor flooring products in all rooms.
Offering low care, high care and dementia support care, the facility accommodates 150 residents, each with their own bedroom and ensuite bathroom.
A polished wood floor effect is achieved in the bedrooms with Polyflor Forest FX. a timber look sheet vinyl in authentic timber reproductions. Here, American Oak has been used. Forest FX is a vinyl sheet collection specifically developed for very heavy commercial Installations, and will cope with wheelchairs and trolleys. It is reinforced with polyurethane (PuR) for improved cleaning and maintenance.
The ensultes are floored with Polysafe Vogue Ultra — a safety flooring specifically designed for wet use areas in healthcare, it has a wet pendulum slip rating of 36 RRL or greater. The bathrooms are in the Bisque colourway — a combination of cream, brown and dark grey flecks.
The facility has several cosy lounge rooms, each with a gas open fire for that cheering glow in winter. The furniture and furnishings have been chosen to be stylish yet retain a residential feel.
The dining rooms are floored with Expona Superplank — a luxury vinyl tile, in a warm honey oak timber.
This flooring, which is also used in the nurses' stations, comes in authentic wood designs with realistic surface textures, and is suitable for all very light commercial and residential situations, taking the wear of trolleys and wheelchairs.
It has a polyurethane (Pu) surface treatment to assist ongoing maintenance.
Both the kitchen and laundry are fitted with Polysafe Ultima In the Mortar colourway. This is a heavy-duty safety flooring with enhanced slip resistance, achieving 40 RRL or greater with the wet pendulum test.
The 25mm thick vinyl is designed for use in heavy-duty and intense feotfell areas where risk of high viscosity contamination is present — perfect for commercial kitchens with the risk of fats, grease and oil spills.
