Case study: Upgrade of stockfeed bagging line

Supplier: AccuPak
11 February, 2010

Bud-Pak / Accuweigh recently commissioned an upgraded stockfeed bagging line at Camilleri Stockfeed's Maroota plant in NSW.

The bagging line upgrade was required to increase plant productivity by increased bagging throughput, improved weighing accuracy while also minimising operator effort handling heavy bags of product.

Jayson Cook from Bud-Pak / Accuweigh's Newcastle branch inspected the site and discussed Camilleri's specific needs before offering and then supplying the following high quality, Australian Made equipment for this very demanding job:

  • One Accu-Pak GB50ADM Screw Fed Electronic Bagging Machine
  • One Bag Closing Conveyor
  • One Pneumatic bag Kicker & Bag Elevating Conveyor
  • One Newlong DS-9C Automatic Sewing Machine with Pedestal (Japan supply)

The locally produced Rinstrum 5100 Intelligent Batch Controller was the weight indicator of choice because of its high accuracy batching capabilities which are complemented by automatic in-flight compensation, 99 recipe storage memory, recipe adjustment by % for varying bag sizes of the same product, bag totalisation and full product reporting capabilities.

Camilleri Stockfeeds is a specialist manufacturer of high quality protein products such as poultry, fish and blood meals for the domestic and export markets. The Bud-Pak / Accuweigh equipment was delivered to site within the prescribed twelve weeks delivery time and was very competently commissioned by Camilleri’s own Electrical Maintenance Manager, Mr Martin Helg.

Bud-Pak / Accuweigh specialise in this and other turn-key weighing and bagging systems, from the early manufacturing stages to the final commissioning stages. For further details of this application or for other general enquiries, please contact Bud-Pak / Accuweigh.
