Nobles assists a client with a challenging off shore lift of a thruster.

In April, Nobles assisted in lifting a 25 tonne thruster into position on a floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO) off the Northern Territory coast. The moving platform that the thruster was being lifted to presented unique challenges and risks.

Nobles supplied 60 tonne Ultralift round slings with 55 tonne shackles for the thruster lift, while a series of 3 tonne flat webbing slings, master links, rigging screws, lever hoists and chain blocks were supplied to secure the lifting frame to the thruster.

The experienced Nobles Darwin team worked closely with the client to determine the safest and most efficient method and equipment for this seamless lift.
