The record-breaking SpiralVeyor® is up and running at a men’s cloth retailer in Jiangsu Province, China. With 3,000 shops and the ambition to nearly double this number within a couple of years, this fashion leader is one of the largest in China. Delivered nearly two years ago, the system was brought into production using easy installable segments with a simple flange connection.
The SpiralVeyor® is the vertical link in the 8 story building connecting with a central cross belt sorting centre on the ground floor. Because of its essential function and the huge elevation involved, AmbaFlex was the obvious choice as the system integrator for the fashion retailer. Another key factor in the decision was AmbaFlex’s many years of experience in multi-level entry spiral systems.
The single standing, one column SpiralVeyor® bridges an astonishing height of 32.4 meters. Such extreme structures are made possible thanks to the SpiralVeyors rigid welded Space Frame, a light weight hollow tube framework offering extreme strength.
Cartons and stackable totes with garments picked for shop delivery are merged at 5 different heights into the main flow of the multi-level spiral. The gross throughput of the spiral conveyor is 4,800 per hour. The AmbaFlex Triple-E technology even makes the combination of these extremes possible with a power consumption below 2kw.
